Elizabeth Ohlhorst, Managing Director

Liz became Managing Director of the organization in January, 2008. She brings a wealth of experience with her related to care of animals, management, public relations and marketing. Liz has embraced the mission of the Humane Society and is committed, along with the Board of Directors, to keep our programs and services in line with the changing community needs and in the best interest of the animals cared for at our adoption facility. Foremost for Liz, as well as the Board of Directors, is that we responsibly and ethically manage the organization and the generous donations received which are our only sources of funding.

 Judy Giles, Volunteer Coordinator

Judy joined our team in 2007. Judy’s responsibilities include recruiting and scheduling volunteers to help staff our on-going operations as well as our special events. She is a wonderful addition to our staff and the volunteers appreciate her willingness to help find them the perfect positions using their talents and interests. She has great ambitions for her department for the coming year.

 Karen Harle, Kennel Technician

Karen has been our part-time Kennel Technician since 2004. She is a very hard worker and does whatever is needed as she fills in for various staff members on their days off! She is our “groomer on staff” and is able to work miracles – changing matted, shaggy, dirty dogs that we take in to good smelling and perfectly “coifed” animals ready for adoption! Karen has an active life away from the Humane Society and has a very soft spot in her heart for Cocker Spaniels.

 Sara McCool, Kennel Technician

Sara joined our team in 2007, bringing a tremendous amount of energy and enthusiasm. She has an equal love of dogs and cats and is very good at helping potential adopters find the perfect animal for their lifestyle. Sara is always willing to learn new things and continues to come up with new and innovative ideas. Sara enjoys taking our animals to various community events and to off-site adoption affairs. Sara just “bubbles” with excitement whenever one of the dogs or cats is adopted – “awesome” is usually heard from Sara!
